First-Ever ‘Green’ Pentathlon Event

Among its most notable pentathletes, Laura Asadauskaitė stands out as an Olympic champion, securing gold in London 2012 and a silver medal in Tokyo 2020. She was also named Lithuania’s best athlete in 2005, 2011, 2019, and 2021.
Andriejus Zadneprovskis earned Olympic silver in Athens 2004 and bronze in Beijing 2008, while Edvinas Krungolcas also claimed silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Stasys Šaparnis, a remarkable Lithuanian athlete, made his mark in modern pentathlon during a challenging period when Lithuania was under Soviet occupation. Despite these circumstances, he excelled at the Olympic Games, earning multiple medals. Šaparnis won gold in the team event in 1965, silver in 1963 and 1972, and bronze in 1965 and 1968. In individual competition, he added a silver medal in 1970. His success is a testament to his talent and determination, representing Lithuania on the world stage under difficult conditions.

  • Gintarė Venčkauskaitė: 7th place in Paris 2024. She finished 12th in London 2012 and 7th in Tokyo 2020.
  • Ieva Serapinaitė: 28th place in the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics.
  • Justinas Kinderis participated in three Olympic Games. He placed 8th in London 2012, 34th in Rio 2016, and earned a respectable 18th place in Tokyo 2020.
